Dr. Nola was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at the Wichita State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. During her studies in optometry school, her passion to serve others led her to participate and lead in optometry mission trips to Honduras and Belize through the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists. Her interest in developmental optometry was sparked when she was treated herself during optometry school for headaches and eyestrain. She experienced the large impact vision therapy had on her life and on the lives of the patients she encountered. During her residency program, she evaluated and managed hundreds of acquired brain injury patients with vision rehabilitation and therapeutic lenses. In October 2015, she was very fortunate to join an optometry missions team to provide full eye exams and glasses to the people in Laos, where her family is originally from. Dr. Nola is very excited to join the OCVT team to continue to help and serve patients with developmental visual problems and head trauma.
