Do any of your students struggle with these?

Could they read a word off an index card, but fumble over that same word in a full sentence? Did they prefer someone to read to them instead?

Do they read an entire page and have no idea what they just read?
They reread it. Still nothing. That's not laziness – that's a sign.

Are audiobooks their saving grace? Do they fall asleep every time they try to read?
Most people chalk this up to being "not a reader." There may be more to the story.

Do they feel less efficient at school than they should be? Do they make "careless" errors? Do they avoid reading for fun entirely?
These aren't personality traits. They may be symptoms.
